Braden MacAlister is a Scottish Highlander who is planning an ambush on Niall MacDougall, to take back his land, his castle , and get vengeance for his family's death. But when Niall uses an innocent woman as a human shield , Braden knows he can not let her die. But before Braden can attack , Jean Mackay , Nialls Shield hits him hard enough to escape his hold , and though she is free , Niall disappears , leaving Bradens ambushto stop Niall unsuccessful. With a wounded man that is setting up infection , Jean offers to take care of him. While in Bradens village Jean is nursing the wounded warrior , all while yearning to feel Bradens touch. The passion they have for each other becomes overwhelming. While trying to plan the next attack on Niall , the temptation for passion towards each other escalates with a heated Desire that leaves them both wanting more . With it time to go to battle to take back whats his , he makes his way into the castle , but only to find that Niall has taken Jean once again. But will Braden be able to save her unlike he was able to save his family or will the woman he longs for die before him by Nialls dagger.

This is a passionate Scottish Romance , that has a little of everything in it , action , heartache , lust and betrayal. I really enjoyed how Author Donna Grant brought it alive by using Scottish slang throughout the story.
